Build the boat first. Then make it autonomous. Then make it in numbers.

Baltic Aquadrones was started in Latvia in autumn 2025 by a small group of engineers and boatbuilders. Rather than begin with a concept and a pitch, we bought a proven hull, fitted it with a waterjet and our own control hardware, and put it on the water within nine months.

Where we are

A dated account of what has actually happened, kept current as the programme moves.

  1. Project started

A category-C fibreglass hull is acquired and the upper deck is designed in-house with functionality as the only brief.

  2. Company established

Baltic Aquadrones is formally set up in Latvia to develop unmanned surface vessels for civil and defence use.

  3. BA-01 on the water

First trials with an operator aboard, then under remote control over Starlink. Steering gear, waterjet integration and the stabilised camera are validated.

  4. BA-02 in design; autonomy stack in development

Computer vision and night vision are operational on BA-01. Waypoint navigation and the onboard mission computer are the next milestones. The BA-02 general arrangement is complete.

  5. Production capability

Planned: a production facility with a large-format 3D printer for hull sections, with the aim of building vessels at a steady monthly rate.

How we work

We keep the parts of the vessel that must be right in our own hands: hull and deck design, steering and actuation, the control architecture and the autonomy software. For propulsion and perception we integrate proven European suppliers rather than reinvent them.

Everything is tested on the bench before it goes on the boat, and on a lake before it goes to sea. When a figure on this site is a target rather than a measurement, we say so.

We are based in Latvia and operate within European Union export-control and maritime regulation. Civil and defence customers are served under the same engineering standard.

Working with us

We are open to pilot customers, integration partners and investors. Write to info@badrones.com or use the enquiry form; a member of the engineering team will reply.
